A Streetcar for Omaha!
Let’s Celebrate and Advocate
We’re back to celebrate this really big news. Mayor Jean Stothert announced that she is proposing the development of a modern streetcar! More than 1,000 Modern Streetcar Advocates have been waiting for this day, and it’s finally here.
Our advocating work is not done, though. If you know of anyone that might need a refresher about all the reasons why Omaha wins with a streetcar, we’re keeping our website up as a place to connect to information. Ultimately, the City of Omaha’s website will be the go-to resource with the most up-to-date project information.
While advocacy through one-on-one conversations with people in our networks is important, we also encourage you to continue to be public with your support. Consider posting your perspective on your social media channels, sharing some of the Modern Streetcar Advocates social media posts, writing a Public Pulse letter and thanking the Mayor on her Facebook page for her support.
But for today, we celebrate! Thank you for all the energy and enthusiasm you’ve shown as an advocate — your efforts were crucial in making today happen. We did it!
